Itchiness (often referred to by your vet as pruritus) leads to dogs scratching, licking, chewing and rubbing excessively, particularly around the face, ears, stomach and paws. Hair loss and/or skin infections may occur. Skin allergies can be triggered by food but may also be due to environmental allergens such as house dust mites or pollen.Dogs can be sensitive to the protein found in their diets. So a diet containing a limited number of protein sources (not commonly found in traditional dog foods) is beneficial.
Canine DRM Dermatosis is a complete veterinary diet for both adult dogs and puppies supporting skin function in cases of dermatosis and excessive hair loss.
• a limited number of selected protein sources to help minimise any adverse food reactions.
• skin-targeting nutrients to help promote a healthy skin and coat and to support wound healing such as high quality protein, zinc and vitamins (such as vitamins A, B, C and E)
• selected novel proteins and limited numbers of protein sources to help minimise adverse food reactions (low antigen)
• high levels of omega-6 fatty acids to help support the skin's natural barrier function, and increased levels of omega-3 fatty acids beneficial for skin health to reduce the production of inflammatory mediators.
